South Bank UTC was delighted to host a visiting delegation recently.
Sir Simon Hughes, former liberal democrat deputy leader and Southwark MP, Roger Lynch, a successful business figure, accompanied Prof Sarah Cook, Honors College Dean at Georgia State University.
Georgia State has had enormous success in raising achievement with a diverse student body in Atlanta, USA, and is developing links with London South Bank University, the UTC’s sponsor.
The visit was really useful at demonstrating the innovative brand of technical education on offer at South Bank UTC, but also to exchange knowledge and ideas and promote understanding across the international education landscape.
Prof Cook was hosted by some of the UTC’s students who were able to teach her to weld in augmented reality as well as demonstrate their work in digital design and manufacture.
