Prof. Hilary McCallion is a Managing Director of Hilary McCallion Consultancy Limited, a company developed to support organisations and individuals achieve their potential and succeed. Previously, she was Director of Nursing and Education at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust for 14 years, where she was responsible for professional leadership of nurses, clinical quality, patient safety, hotel services and education and training.
Hilary has worked across the NHS and in Higher Education in England and Wales. She was a recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award for the examination of people with AIDS-related brain impairment and a visiting professor at London South Bank University, the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing, Kings College, and Bucks New University.
Hilary is a former Chair of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Director of Nursing and Lead Nurses National forum. She received a CBE for mental health nursing in the Queens Birthday Honours in 2012.
Hilary is also a Governor of London South Bank University and a Trustee of Dementia UK and Bethlem Museum of the Mind.
